Community

The Upper Skagit Tribal Community consists of many elements making up the whole. There are numerous cultural gatherings throughout the year hosted at the Cultural Center, the Gym and the Community Center. Members of the community participate in traditional hunting, fishing and gathering openings throughout Skagit River Valley as permitted. There are always opportunities for the youth to get involved in recreation and develop social and learning skills. The Tribe employs over 500 people on the Upper Skagit Reservation in government and business positions of many kinds. The Tribe self-governs these activities for the benefit of the community – always looking to the future in addition to taking care of each other today.
